As a Montessori parent and teacher, I can honestly say that I fell in love with Montessori at first sight. Over the 20 years of my experience in teaching, I’ve watched my daughter benefit in so many ways because of her educational experiences. Love for learning, academic abilities, compassion, and self-motivation are all qualities she has attained for this superb way of learning. I would like to share some reasons why I think Montessori sets itself apart from other ways of learning.

MONTESSORI IS NOT A TREND: Montessori programs help via a holistic development of a child. The Montessori education proves to be effective as it is based on the idea that children learn through their natural instincts. Montessori pre-schools don’t flip-flop between programs because they don't need to rely on Dr.Maria Montessori’s philosophy developed many years ago. However, it still works for children today and I know as a parent, it works for my child as well.
IT FOSTERS INDEPENDENCE: Montessori offers a prepared environment. Enter a preprimary room and you will watch a three-year-old sweeping the floor with a child-sized broom or washing the dishes in the sink - just their height. Through the Sensorial material, each child is given the freedom to use their potentials at their best. I, as a Montessori directress, take immense pleasure and pride in seeing these children “do it themselves” with just a little guidance from an adult. The ‘Control of error’ lies in the material itself. We cater to a mixed age group. Children in a Montessori classroom ask for help when they need it. This not only helps the child become independent but also boosts their confidence.
CHILDREN GRASP THE IDEA OF “WHY.”: I believe that students don’t just “lose” information over the summer because the summer is too long but because it’s not meaningful to them. Montessori allows children to understand the how and the why with materials. Concepts are understood by children when they explore and manipulate the equipped material. Each material teaches only one concept at a time. The method believes in going from the ‘Concrete to abstract’. ‘Repetition’ is what is always encouraged.
LEARNING IS ACTUALLY FUN. (NO REALLY!!!... IT IS!): A child gets to learn about botany by looking at leaf samples. The child learns about the continents or how one is different from another through the Montessori material. At Bella Escuela Montessori learning happens through experience, exploring, and creativity. Learning is real and relevant. At Bella Escuela Montessori learning happens through experience, exploring, and creativity.
Learning is real and relevant. My advice to other parents is to make a choice that will not just prepare your child for the next level but will also prepare them to be a global citizens. This program caters to the ‘Holistic development of a child. A tour of our Montessori school will help you understand how Montessori works.
